A few years ago I had a fairly nice collection that I carried around in my car and long story short the car burned down and my cd collection was gone like that. I want to start re-building and I wanted to know if anyone could help me out with some soundboard shows. The only thing I have to offer is a copy of the "To Terrapin" cd that came out a few months ago. I am looking for full shows but I'll take full sets. Anyone who would like to help can reach me at jack_straw_07@hotmail.com Thanks a lot.

In the interest of further welcome to this collection of weirdos, you can email me at my namehereAT gmail.com and I will be happy to start the B&P effort with you. I am not the grand collector as some are here, but I do have 100+ shows on disc that can be yours like the good old days of cassette trading.

while bit torrent (thank you veblen) is a grate resource for acquiring Grateful Dead shows (and others), if you are not interested in that technology, you can always request a trade (or B&P [Blanks & Postage]) via the collectors lists at etree:

http://db.etree.org/users.php

you can filter the lists in all sorts of ways in order to narrow down the possibles

i can assure you (from personal experience) that if you search the collectors' lists at etree, narrow it down to a few, send an email to that/those person(s) with your particular show interests, you will more than likely be successful in being on the way to acquiring some lossless GD SBD shows ... all for nothing more than a friendly exchange!

now, i've seen a plethora of single posts here on the forum of deadheads posting something along the lines of what you write above (and absolutely nothing wrong with that of course) ... and while 9 out of 10 here aren't looking for anything in exchange (just sharing Jerry's music is generally the reward in itself), on the other hand, why not stick around, join in the discussions, share your stories, your opinions, etc., 'connect' with others here, and then ... well you never know, you might find yourself with more music than you can shake a stick at

It worked for me! Hey Arb--I'd use Facebook if I knew how, but hope all is well with you; always a pleasure seeing your handle hereabouts..."credenza" and "chifarobe" come to mind every time.

sorry I wasn't in full customer service mode...

arb is on top of b&p, but if that is your preference then still look at the tracker sites since B&P's are usually going through their forums as well...

whether you go bit torrent or B&P you might want to stream some shows here in order to do some filtering prior to selecting shows, if you don't already have shows in mind. If you do, it is a great way to compare recordings. This site is a wonderful resource in so many ways.

Streamed shows:

(for listening only...downloading is a no-no and one of sacred trusts of the site...people download and the boards get pulled)

Plus if you are interested in auds:
http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=collection%3AGratefulDead%20-%2Fmetadata%2Fstream_only%3A%281%29
(all are available for downloading)

anyway the music is available...ENJOY!!!

I would add to Arb and Veblen's statements and say that if you dig around through the Grateful Dead Listening Guide at
http://deadlistening.blogspot.com/

you may just find that there are some aud's that pique your interest as well. Noah is a self professed lover of the audience tape, and gone out of his way to pick through the masses of tapes out there, to find the absolute best masters of audience versions. There is a whole school of thought that the pristine SBD's, Monitors, and Matrix tapes don't hold a candle to the experience of being there that can only be really accomplished via the audience masters.
